Best of 2010 Comics

First Movies then Music next up Comics. So here is my pick for best 2010 Comics.

Best New Character
Vic Alvarez(Powerman) spinning out of Marvel's Street Level event Shadowland, writer Fred Van Lente & artist Mahmud Asrar introduced comic fans to a new character on the blog in Shadowland : Powerman. With a powerful chi power Vic is unstoppable already defeating a bunch of The Hand Ninjas as well as giving Cottonmouth dentistry problems, it seems Vic will one badass character that will shake the Marvel Universe.

Best Team/Group
Even though only few issues left for this series to end(hopefully that wont be the last of it). Writer Jonathan Hickman is investing and building up these young characters that i am pretty sure got the potential to headline marvel universe. Already a threat to Hydra and Leviathan and of course Nick Fury mentoring them what more can you ask for?
Best Mini Series
Brian Wood & Rebekah Isaacs did an excellent job revamping DV8 characters bringing them on the spotlight again as well as highlighting each character with a modern take of superheroes, with Rebekah Isaacs detailed artwork making it a breath of fresh air in comics.
Best Ongoing Series
This series is not the usual  G.I.Joe series, this is much darker and violent theme with strong original storytelling series that focus on character Chuck as an undercover agent infiltrating super terrorist Cobra.

Best New Series
Another Jonathan Hickman series S.H.I.E.L.D. with only 4 issues released, creative team Jonathan Hickman and Dustin Weaver are blowing minds taking us back in history with real big figures such as Imhotep,Isaac Newton,Leonardo Da Vinci and Gallileo all connected to Marvel secret organization S.H.I.E.L.D.

Best Character
From Captain America side kick Bucky to assassin Winter Soldier and now the new Captain America. Bucky Barnes has come a long way and that is only the beginning. Currently on trial for the crimes committed as Winter Soldier, who knows what writer Ed Brubaker got in store for Bucky.

Best Comic Cover
By Mike Deodato Jr. for Secret Warriors.
