Design Spotlight : Stock Watches

Official Statement :
STOCK is the creative pursuit of 27-year-old designer and watch collector David Tatangelo, who has been amassing a timepiece collection over the past 10 years. After two years of development, meticulous prototyping and field testing – carried out in Melbourne – he hit upon his ideal design: a wristwatch worthy of everyday wear that is equally at home as a refined accompaniment to a formal outfit. This year sees the brand launch and product release of the first watch in the STOCK range, a slim unisex watch finished with Italian leather bands and Swiss Quartz movements. Stock watches first range is inspired by vintage watches and objects collected over the years by designer David Tatangelo and draws on a few key moments to create a simple timepiece. Its intention is to create a fashionable timepiece while referencing his love for industrial objects and environments with an aversion from large watches currently trending in the market.
The  first model, the S001, embraces industrial design influences and uses refined manufacturing techniques to create an extremely thin bezel, making the dial as large as possible for a watch this size. This uncompromising attention to detail is further reflected on the back of the watch case, which resembles a screw-down hatch door and is entirely machined from surgical grade stainless steel.
Nice and simple watches from Melbourne-based Stock Watches.
A must have for all minimal enthusiasts.
